MediaPlaylist a set controls (volume, balance, playlist, position, timer, ...) that plays : AVI, CDA, DivX, MID, MP3, MPG, MOV, WAV. It has a MPG - MP3 tag editor and playlist editor (m3u & pls), Several kinds of sorting the playlist. Drag and Drop from Explorer into playlist. Add shortcuts for desired application. Playmode : Repeat 0,1, all, Shuffle or not. Support winamp skins (wsz not jet). Requires only MsFlxGrd.ocx and DivX code, it's a totaly replacement for the mci.ocx. (mciPlayer = Winamp Clone).

First of all, I want to establish that this is NOT my code. I did not modify it in any way. This is the only VU Meter that I have ever seen that actually works. I have never gotten any WaveOut or any WaveIn errors before. Its a nice example and I hope to use it one of my future projects. I got it off of a website (www.fullspectrum.com i belive) if you want to visit thier website, there is a readme.txt file in the zip file where you can get information on the program. This is the original zip file as well. The only reason why I posted this in the first place is because its the only VU meter that has ever worked for me and i hope it works for you.

A simple, general purpose audio waveform generator. Features Sine, Square, Triangle and Sawtooth waveforms plus White Noise. Send Messages to Winamp using one simple Class Module (Play, Pause, Unpause, Next Track, Previous Track, Volume Up, Volume Down, Close, etc).
Displays an accurate waveform synched with audio, in a scrolling window. I wanted to be able to display a waveform which looked like those in the majority of sound editors (Cool Edit by preference), and this does the job. The waveform moves across the screen in time with the audio and you're able to scroll along the whole length of the waveform. The waveform is 'reasonably' accurate - it would take too long to scan in a multi-meg file and check every byte, so a compromise is used. I don't think the quality of the display suffers at all. This code is part of a bigger project which will not be open-source. Having used a lot of ideas from other coders I thought it only fair to share this much. Limitations: it's only for 44100, 16-bit stereo waveforms, but you should be able to adapt it to 8-bit and other sample rates, etc. I only needed it to play one type of waveform, sorry! Enjoy!

A Simple Wave Player Program Plays any Wave sound files that are in your My Music Folder.
This is an advanced MP3 renamer, including an ID3v1 and ID3v2 tag reading AND writing class! The program is easy to use and uses very intelligent file analysing algorithms. MP3 renamer reads out the ID3v1 tags, ID3v2 tags and file names and analyses them to generate a new file name. I'm sure you'll be surprised in how many cases this will work well. But you also have the possibility to alter the data analysing results manually on a per file basis. MP3 renamer will then rewrite the ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags and, of course, will rename the file so that you're going to have perfectly named MP3 files.

Simple Sound Mixer Wrapper Class plus Test Driver. Unfortunately the Mixer interface is rather complicated - maybe written by a musician *g* - so there are quite a few mystic API calls with plenty of params, mixer-constants with ugly names, cryptic structure types, and virtual memory address pointers from one structure into the next. And Micro$oft's documentation is slim, to put it polite, but I tried my best to put all that into a wrapper with a simple interface: You choose the Channel and SoundControl; this will return True if the selection was successful, and then Get or Let the Value. (Note that ALL values are in % - for booleans (like Mute) the value 0 means False and 100 means True - one hundred percent true, so to say).
This is an example of an advanced volume crossfader for (windows) media players. It is NOT a media player. It has a crossfader (to fade between 2 players), a limiter (to limit the volume to a set level), and of course a master volume slide. Just check it out, great if you're making a media player!
Almost Real Jukebox is a MP3 jukebox with ID3 tag editing capabilities. Thru the listview you can see your ID3 tag information for each of your MP3's. You can also customize the listview with your desired font, background & foreground colors. It also has a custom scrolling player display with counter. When you first start the program it will search all your hard drives for MP3's which it uses to build the main file list. Once you have created the main file list it is saved so that you wont have to search again, unless you choose to do so thru the File menu. Using the checkboxes in the listview control you select your desired songs for the playlist. This playlist can then be saved or reloaded at any time. You can create as many different playlists as you like. You also have the options to Shuffle Playlist, Load Last Playlist On Start, Auto-Play Playlist On Load & Jump To Current Song On Change. Which can be accessed thru the Settings menu & turned on or off at any time. All settings are saved on exit, including listview sort order, column width Ect. . The scroller control is a modified control with stop & centering capabilities that I modified myself. This is an ongoing project but it is quite together already. Please feel free to post comments, suggestions & ides. If nothing else honestly post what you think about what I have put together so far. I am working at what I feel is a fairly advanced level here & some of the things required to put this type of a program together are still beyond my skill level of beginner, but I am giving it my all.
Added Explorer shell extension for right-click access to the program for audio files. compile the .dll to the main project directory.I tried to include the bass.dll files but apparently even renamed they aren't allowed. Rips CD tracks to MP3 files. I took a look at the "tutorial" for AK's CD ripping DLL and it looks like it was written by monkeys. The code is bloody unusable, I spent the better part of a day rewritting it so it's actually usable.

Due to my new featureless iPod!, this program looks though for mp3 list and searches for a few particular tags which contains words like "title" or "unknown" and replaces them with the folder or file name. This only looks for Version 2.3 (not ver 2.2) in the main header and that other older TAG system which is connected on the bottom of some mp3's. I'm assuming that is version 1?........ It worked fine for me, but run it in IDE mode just in case some errors occur.

Here is an update of my cd/mixer found on this site. It is a little odd as I have removed more than I have added. It is now a dedicated mixer. I have inproved the coding putting all the controls into arrays making better faster code and reducing the overal size. Also in the download you will find another Zip with the mute only for the people whom keep wondering how it works. The VU meters still do not work but I am determined to sort it soon.

This is my visualization engin. There are two visualizations Moving Barst and Bass Circles. It isn't finished and i need help on it. Another improvement is simplified algorithms, which make Bass Maker 2 faster than the original Bass Maker. A few unnecessary pictures and code were removed resulting in the file size to be a quater of the original. These and many other improvements have been made upon the previous version. Well, one thing I just haven't found ANY examples of in VB is implementing IContextMenu3. This does that. I have tried to include as many comments \ references as possible. Please read the info in the documentation folder, especially if you don't know how to use this. Step by step info as well as credits are located there. Several tools are included: one for easily registering / deregistering the dll as a handler, one for unregistering the dll / type library, and one for enumerating all the active menu handlers on the system (for anyone that might be curious.) One note, as any CONTEXT <-(keyword here) handler should be, the menus will vary, depending on the type and amount of files / folders selected. At the moment, it doesn't do that much, but it does demonstrate how to create a handler.

Here's how to use Voice Recognition in your VB apps. It's very simple and works well. I tried to upload the speech engines with this code but it was too large so you will have to go and download the speech and voice recognition engines from Microsoft.Com yourself.
Its A big d/l (~370kb) but its worth it. This is just about a fully functional MP3 & CD player. It has a nice GUI and toon of options. Some of those options are: play,pause,stop,resume,repeat,random,playlist,save list,load list,and lots more. I will be updating ASAP to add some stuff like mp3 to wav wave to mp3 and possably a cd ripper. PS you can save and load winamp playlist. Now has save settings, and skinnable and much more!
This little piece of code retrieves a CD's Identification Number. This is very useful, e.g. if you're making a CD Player that needs to get access to the CDDB. I got this code from a friend of mine, and i just remake it because it didn't work properly, and added some comments to it. Hope you like it! : )
Really cheesy name but i had to come up one! Simple kind of MP3 player that DOESN'T use the Windows Media Player Control (I was getting kind of sick of it). It uses the "Impulse MP3" control that comes with Impulse Studio. Only supports MP3 and MPU file extentions as far as i know. Could play others. Supports drop and draging of files and command line arguments (eg. "c:\My Documents\MP3 Player.exe <MP3Filename>"). also has a simple playlist. You may have to register the "ImpulseMP3.OCX" file that is included. Not fully finished or bug proof. Any comments would be nice!!

A DivX, mp3 and mediaplayer, using winmm.dll support: avi, mp3, mpeg, mpg, asf. if you want to play DivX movie you must have DivXCodec install on your system.
I did not write this code but I found it very helpful.
This control has been reworked from the original by Michael L. Barker. It is now much more robust and has many more properties. It exposes all CD info (lengths/frames/offsets/number of tracks) and will connect to CDDB to grab album/genre/artist/track names. Enjoy!
Plays MP3's via the numerical keypad for use in a Car, basically toss your keyboard and use a numpad (with a keyboard extension cable) to change songs/volume/cue/next/last etc.. add a cassette adapter to the soundcard reaching up to your cars OEM cassette deck and an inverter to power a PC in your trunk Viola!, Someone submitted it earlier this month and I added a few tricks to it thats all.. would like someone to continue and get the subfolders buttons to work like that of MXPLAY does..(DOS MP3 PLayer), There is 2 links also using the homepage.bas module and module2.bas ones for linking anything to a web address, other is the module for the carplayer, links are the button at the bottom (my e-mail) and the yellow text on the top (comes to PSC of course), Edit it and e-mail me your version, would love to see it RIP CD's and be able to grab any MP3's in the subfolders as seperate BAND listings (get it?).. also possibly an LCD Driver made for my 4x40 character LCD via the printer port, My currnet car (2000 Cougar) player is in a small suitcase with an 8-Gig drive and works GREAT!, It loads the program via a shortcut in the startup folder (of course) and all the ME functions have been toned down with "More Properties" to make it load faster.., Enjoy Rob berkelusa@hotmail.com
The .BAS module for your VB programs that gives you full access to the Audio CD player functionality of your CD Rom(s) on your PC. It includes a test project and functions such as OpenCD, CloseCD, GetCDID, GetCDLength, PlayCD, StopCD, MediaPresent, GetNumberOfTracks, SetCurrentTrack and several more. Should work in ANY version of Windows, and has been tested in VB5 and 6. This is the unreleased version of Melonsoft's Cabrio Lite MP3 Player. Ive havent messed with it that much, but ive tried to clean it up to be very useable, its a small mp3 player, low system usage, excellect sound using the famous amp driver. c_wav_processor class allows modification of 16 bit wav files on sample (amplitude) level (both left and right channel) by going over each sample and raising an event. User can process the event and modify the currently processed sample (amplitude). Practically it allows user to generate wave forms of arbitrary complexity using mathematics functions (e.g. kick sound is generated). A drawback is that wav files cannot be created out of integer arrays (de novo)

Led follows wav file. See how to Load a wav file into a byte array using DirectSounds ReadBuffer method, then read that info into an led at run-time. Simply check for playing wavs position, then use that position as a lookup point in the byte array. Then some simple math turns 0-127 into 0-10. This is not completly accurate because some wavs are mono and some are stereo.
A .bas module containing procedures that are useful to control Winamp via its API.
